The LMN through the Community Freezer Project now has available a limited number of caribou roasts to LMN Elders (age 65 or older) living on the South Coast of Labrador.

Caribou will be distributed throughout the South Coast. There are a limited number of roasts available for each community.

Please provide the following information when calling to reserve your Caribou Roast: Name, Community, Date of Birth and Membership #.

The Traditional Foods Exchange Project provides LMN Elders in Central Labrador with Bakeapples during the summer and in turn provides Elders on the South Coast of Labrador with Caribou during the winter.

Harvester Training Available

The Natural Resources Department is offering free training to active LMN Harvesters that participate in the LMN Caribou Hunt and the Communal Fishery.
Wilderness First Aid training will be available for approximately seven members in Goose Bay from March 26-28, 2010. There will be FAC Courses offered in Goose Bay and Port Hope Simpson in late March (date yet to be determined) as well.
