JOB OPPORTUNITY- Natural Resources Technician

Job Title: Research and Natural Resources Technician
Reports To: Environmental and Resource Manager, NunatuKavut
Location: Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL
SUMMARY
Plan, coordinate and facilitate projects and initiatives related to Environmental impact assessments and sustainable development of natural resources within or affecting NunatuKavut. Assisting in and developing proposals and budgets, supervise various project employees, communicate with government offices, funding agencies, and developers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches, analyzes, and monitors natural resource development in NunatuKavut.
Monitors and analyzes various project budgets to ensure reports are timely, and cash flow is appropriate. Assist with the development of project budgets. Consult with Members on developments ongoing in NunatuKavut.
Coordinate and attend various proponent meetings related meetings. Liaises with NunatuKavut's financial department and General Manager of NunatuKavut on Departmental files.
Coordinate and provide assistance in various natural resource initiatives in the fishery, forestry, traditional knowledge gathering and reviewing archeological information. Provides diverse organizational support to NunatuKavut as directed by the Environmental Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Successfully completed post secondary education in natural resources, environmental sciences, forestry, biology or similar field of study; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Consideration will also be given to persons with Administrative Training that have experience in Natural Resources.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business plans, financial reports, technical reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, government agencies, or members of the business community and NunatuKavut membership. Ability to write proposals and business plans that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
