Resolution for consideration at the LMN AGA Feb 2010
RE: Name of Organization
Wheres the Labrador Metis Nation passed a resolution at a recent AGA to concentrate on the focus of our land claim submission on Inuit ancestry and cultural continuity; and
Whereas changes were made in the membership classifications to reflect this mandate; and
Whereas the term "Metis" in itself may not be the best one to reflect the identity of the full membership of the organization; and
Whereas the land claim submission is being prepared for consideration by the Government of Canada in March 2010; and
Whereas the LMN council is currently reviewing possibly alternatives for re-naming the organization;
BE IT RESOLVED that the LMN Council forward any consideration for a name change to the membership for a decision at the Feb 2010 AGA.

Resolution for consideration at the Feb 2010 AGA
Re: Traditional Ceremonies
Whereas the Labrador Metis Nation is an Aboriginal group which is made up of a majority of people of Inuit descent; and
Whereas it is felt by many it is the position of the LMN council that the LMN should go back to its roots and open meetings and gatherings in a traditional way; and
BE IT RESOLVED that all meetings and gatherings of the LMN be opened and closed with Inuit Metis traditions of our ancestors to get back to our traditional culture.
