What is the Off-Reserve Aboriginal Housing Repair Program?
The Off-Reserve Aboriginal Housing Repair Program is designed to provide assistance to low-income off-reserve Aboriginal homeowners to make critical and/or emergency repairs to their homes.
What assistance is available under the program?
For Aboriginal homeowners, assistance is available in the form of a Grant, up to $9500.
What repairs or renovations
qualify under the Program?
All repairs will be identified through an inspection by a qualified Inspector. The inspection report may include repair or replacement of:
-Heating, electrical or plumbing systems; and/or
-Deteriorated structures, foundations, windows, doors, roofing or siding.
Who is eligible?
-Off-reserve Aboriginal homeowners having an income of less than $35,000 per year.
- Proof of homeownership and verification of income must be provided.
- Homeowners must be a member of the Labrador Metis Nation

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants should meet all the following eligibility criteria:
-Be a permanent legal resident of Newfoundland Labrador;
-Be an LMN homeowner;
-Have a combined applicant/co-applicant income at or below $35,000, as per line 236 on the income tax return;
-Provide proof of homeownership, by way of a deed of clear title or affidavit;
-Must be the owner and occupant of the home;
-Have an eligible repair item; and
-Be at least 19 years of age.

AVAILABLE
-Labrador $9,500
INCOME VERIFICATION
Income verification is mandatory. Acceptable verification of income for this program shall be an Option C Print Out (available from Revenue Canada), from the previous calendar year,for the applicant and co-applicant.
INELIGIBLE PROPERTIES
-Non-owner occupied principal residences;
-Multiple unit residential complexes;
-Homes for sale;
-Not-for-Profit rental properties; and
-New homes under construction.
GRANT FUNDING
Grant funding will be available to eligible off-reserve Aboriginal homeowners, up to $9,500.
