Violence Prevention
In an effort to create more awareness of the various types of abuse that are prevalent along the southeast coast of Labrador, the Labrador Metis Nation has developed information materials on abuse, geared specifically towards women and teens.
Self-esteem workshops in Labrador Metis Nation communities (as well as focus groups) are regularly held to help identify community concerns and challenges, as well as assets, in relation to violence prevention.
One of the expected outcomes for these efforts would be that our organization would have a better understanding of some of our needs and strengths as it related to violence prevention in our communities.
